HOME

The variety of animals that we now have experience of dealing with has also grown - we recently helped with some hens (did you know they ate ham? - how weird is that! - like food eating food!)

Early in 2011 I was asked by Social Services to collect a Yorkshire Terrier from her owner’s house as her owner had fallen ill and needed to go into hospital.  She had been boarded at some “traditional outdoor” kennels but had not coped too well, possibly due to her age as she is over 11 years old. Her owner refused to get into the ambulance until he knew that she was going into “home environment” boarding. Sadly he died a few days later but luckily not before I was able to get a message to him that his precious dog was doing really well at ours.  And so entered Mitzy into our lives ......we hadn’t been able to find a home for her as her age seemed to put most people off. I have to say, she’s great fun - really active and we just love her to bits, we’ve had her teeth scaled which is a bit of a problem with Yorkies but she has settle into our way of life. Any old dogs that come in for boarding “buddy up” well with her.

Mitzy

I also have a cat - Molly - who is a Persian.  She is nearly 15 now and just adorable (that’s her on the cat sitting page)

Jenni and Meg

My name is Jenni and I established The Animal Business in 2005 to meet the growing needs of today’s busy pet owners.

I have loads of experience in dealing with dogs in particular - I have successfully competed in Obedience with my own dog Meg - a Springer Spaniel, and previously with Border Collies and German Shepherds.  I used to judge obedience classes at shows and also at a K. C. Registered Club that I was an instructor at for over 12 years. I dabbled in show training with Kayan - my Hungarian Vizsla - I would like to say that we were successful but although I took it very seriously it soon became apparent that Kayan was only there for a laugh :-(

Sadly Kayan and Meg have both died now - Kayan was a fantastic boy - really true to his breed, Meg.... well just occasionally a dog comes along who is the best of the best of the best - and she was that dog.

It is quite a different business to the one that began in 2005 - we now offer a dog walking or visiting service, cat sitting service, house sitting service and are also licensed by Solihull Council to offer day and residential dog boarding.
