My name is Jenni and I established The Animal Business in 2005 to meet the growing needs of today’s busy pet owners. I’ve always been around animals in some form or another. I have loads of experience in dealing with dogs in particular - I have successfully competed in Obedience with my own dog Meg who is a Springer Spaniel and previously with Border Collies and German Shepherds. Sadly Meg is now over 15 years old so our winning days are over. I often judge obedience classes at shows and also at a K.C. Registered Club that I have been an instructor at for over 12 years. I dabbled in show training with Kayan my Hungarian Vizsla - I would like to say that we were successful but although I took it very seriously it soon became apparent that Kayan was only there for a laugh :-( I also have a cat - Molly who is a Persian. She’s 12 now and just adorable. It is quite a different business to the one that began in 2005 - we now offer a cat sitting service and are also licensed by Solihull Council to offer day and residential dog boarding. My long suffering husband Steve dreads any new ideas that I come up with to expand the business as it usually involves building something when he is home on leave. The variety of animals that we now have experience in dealing with has also grown - we recently helped with some hens (did you know they ate ham! - how weird is that!) Last year The Animal Business was chosen to appear in poster advertising for Signposter.com You may have seen some of the posters in and around the Midlands - it featured a very stern looking me with loads of dogs sitting for a school photo behind me. It was great that so many of my own clients were able to come along to the photo shoot and feature on the poster.
Louise (who helps me with my dog walking) and I were also invited down to London to record a radio advert for BRMB - what a great day out that was!

I have recently completed a fantastic hands on dog first aid course with Animal Aiders and while I hope to never have to use the skills I have learnt - it’s always good fun to practice on Kayan :-) UPDATE - Kayan decided to go one step further and DIE!!! My lovely boy didn’t quite make 12........ he’ll be very sadly missed
